Fresh Rumor Claims Both 5.8-Inch and 6.5-Inch iPhone XI Models Will Have Triple Camera Sensors at the Back

Rumors of a triple rear camera finding its way in one 2019 iPhone XI model started making waves during the start of the year, with the first render revealing that the orientation of the camera lenses will be in an unorthodox fashion. According to a new rumor, two models belonging to Apple’s upcoming lineup will feature triple cameras at the back, resulting in superior photography and additional features that might not be found in the 2018 iPhone series.

Rumor Claims the Camera Orientation of the 2019 iPhone XI Lineup Will Be Similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s

According to the Japanese blog, Macotakara, an unnamed Chinese supplier has supplied information that the next iPhone series will have the same triple camera configuration as the one present at the back of the Mate 20 Pro. For two years now, Apple has used a vertical camera orientation at the back of its devices for the 2017 iPhone X, as well as for the 2018 iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. While the rumor suggesting that the upcoming devices will be upgraded with the three sensors, there is some interesting information added.

It states that the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch versions might both be equipped with triple cameras. This does make sense for the most part. Even last year, both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max featured the same camera specifications. It’s just that their size variations and the inherent differences that come with such differences were visible both physically and in the specifications department. As for the camera specifications, a previous rumor stated that the iPhone XI will have a 14MP sensor, but didn’t divulged on the remaining megapixel count.

Keep in mind that this does not necessarily mean Apple has settled on this camera orientation, as previous renders reveal that the iPhone XI will have horizontally aligned sensors at the back, as well as a smaller notch that would house the TrueDepth camera and the remaining components. A separate rumor claims that Apple will do away with the Lightning port, replacing it with the Type-C USB interface, but it’s better to take this information with a pinch of salt.

With a lot of companies focusing on smartphone cameras, Apple will also attempt to bring its A-game to the market with the launch of the iPhone XI series. While we hope the technology giant will put a lid on the pricing, incorporating the best hardware in a compact device means you’ll have to pay a substantial amount for it.
