Samsung’s Exynos 2600 GPU Performance Gets a Significant Lift
Samsung is gearing up for its Galaxy Unpacked event on 25 February, and in the lead-up, the company’s Exynos 2600 chipset has received some impressive performance enhancements. Originally announced in December as the first 2nm GAA chipset, the Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 GPU has now achieved an 8% overall improvement in graphics performance. This boost is particularly striking in the Particle Physics benchmark, where the GPU’s score surged by 61% compared to earlier tests.
Key Performance Improvements and Benchmark Details
The latest benchmark results, compiled by Korean media outlet The Elec, compare Geekbench 6 scores from September 2025 to those recorded in January 2026. Using the Vulkan API, the Exynos 2600’s GPU score rose from 22,829 to 24,726 points, marking the 8% increase. This narrowing of the gap brings the Exynos 2600 closer to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which scored 27,708 points, reducing the previous 21% performance difference to just 12%.
While the Vulkan scores saw clear gains, the OpenCL category in Geekbench 6 did not show any improvements. The standout boost came in specific Vulkan tests: the Particle Physics test score jumped from 61,697 points (2,715 FPS) to 99,708 points (4,388 FPS), a remarkable 61% increase. Similarly, the Edge Detection test saw a 51% rise, moving from 24,454 points (907 MP/s) to 36,985 points (1,370 MP/s).

Context and What to Expect Next
Alongside the GPU improvements, the Exynos 2600’s CPU clock speeds have increased by 12%, promising better single-core and multi-core performance as the Galaxy S26 launch approaches. These refinements suggest Samsung is fine-tuning its chipset to maximise efficiency and power ahead of the official unveiling. Given the proximity to the Galaxy Unpacked event, further detailed benchmarks and performance insights are expected to emerge soon, providing a clearer picture of how the Exynos 2600 stacks up against rival chipsets.
For those interested in the technical evolution of Samsung’s flagship processors, these incremental gains highlight the company’s commitment to optimising its hardware in the final stages before launch. Stay tuned for more comprehensive performance data once the Galaxy S26 is officially revealed.
