Honor Magic V6 Certified Ahead of MWC Launch

Honor is gearing up to unveil its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V6, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the coming weeks. Prior to its official launch, the device has been certified for sale in China by the 3C authority, providing early insights into some of its key features and specifications. This certification confirms two model numbers, PNM-AN10 and PNM-AN20, with the latter expected to include satellite connectivity capabilities.

Top-Tier Charging and Battery Capacity

One of the standout revelations from the certification is the Magic V6’s support for 120W wired charging. This is notably the fastest charging speed ever seen on a foldable smartphone, promising significantly reduced charging times. Complementing this fast charging capability is a sizeable 7,150mAh battery, which should offer ample endurance for heavy users. This represents a considerable upgrade from the Magic V5, which featured a 5,820mAh battery for international models and 6,100mAh for the Chinese variant, alongside 66W charging support.

Powerful Hardware and Design Enhancements

The Magic V6 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring flagship-level performance. Photography enthusiasts may be pleased to hear that the device is rumoured to sport a 200MP main camera sensor, paired with a periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. Additionally, the phone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security. Early reports suggest that the Magic V6 will be even thinner than its predecessor, the Magic V5, which debuted last summer, indicating improvements in design and portability.

Looking Ahead to the Official Launch

With the Magic V6’s certification now public and its launch imminent at MWC, anticipation is building around how Honor will position this foldable in the competitive market. The combination of ultra-fast charging, a large battery, and high-end camera hardware could make it a compelling choice for users seeking a premium foldable experience. It will be interesting to see how the satellite connectivity feature on the PNM-AN20 model is implemented and whether it will be available globally.

As we await the official announcement, these early details suggest that Honor is aiming to push the boundaries of foldable smartphone technology once again.
