Honor Launches the Magic V6 Foldable with Unprecedented Durability

Honor has kicked off MWC 2026 by unveiling its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V6. This new device marks a significant milestone for the brand and the foldable segment as a whole, being the first foldable phone to boast both IP68 and IP69 ingress protection ratings. The Magic V6 positions itself firmly in the flagship category, featuring top-tier hardware and innovative durability enhancements.

Top-Tier Specifications and Features

At the heart of the Magic V6 lies the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with a generous 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth performance and ample space for users. The device sports a large 7.95-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED main display with a sharp 2,172 x 2,352 pixel resolution and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. This screen incorporates reinforced ultra-thin glass (UTG) and an anti-reflection layer, contributing to a 44% reduction in crease depth and improved legibility, with peak local brightness reaching up to 5,000 nits.

The cover display measures 6.52 inches and shares the LTPO 2.0 technology and variable refresh rate, offering FHD+ resolution and an even higher peak local brightness of 6,000 nits. Both screens support stylus input and include 20MP front-facing cameras for selfies.

Photography capabilities are robust, featuring a triple camera setup on the rear. The main sensor is a 50MP shooter with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is complemented by a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with a 70mm equivalent focal length, capable of 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. This versatile camera array caters to a wide range of shooting scenarios.

Engineering Excellence and Battery Innovations

From an engineering standpoint, the Magic V6 is Honor’s most durable foldable yet. It incorporates a new Super Steel Hinge crafted from the strongest commercially available steel, rigorously tested to withstand up to 500,000 folds and unfolds in Honor’s internal laboratories. Despite these durability improvements, the device remains remarkably slim and lightweight, measuring 8.75mm thick when folded—comparable to the iPhone 17 Pro Max—and weighing just 219 grams in the white colour variant. When unfolded, the phone is an impressively thin 4mm.

The battery is another highlight, with a sizeable 6,660mAh silicon-carbon (Si-C) battery that contains 25% silicon content, offering an energy density of 921Wh/L. This enables the Magic V6 to support fast 80W wired charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, ensuring users can quickly recharge and share power with compatible devices.

Software and Ecosystem Integration

The Magic V6 runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, with Honor committing to seven major Android upgrades for the device. Notably, the phone enhances cross-platform functionality with Apple products through Honor Connect, which now supports two-way notification syncing between the Magic V6 and Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Mac users can also enjoy seamless file sharing and even use the Magic V6’s main screen as a secondary display, bridging the gap between ecosystems.

Availability and Colours

The Magic V6 will be offered in four colours: Red, Gold, White, and Black. However, Honor has yet to reveal pricing or availability details, leaving enthusiasts eager to learn when they can get their hands on this innovative foldable.

Overall, the Honor Magic V6 sets new standards for foldable smartphones with its combination of durability, flagship specifications, and enhanced ecosystem integration. It will be interesting to see how it performs in the market and how consumers respond to its unique features.
