Huawei Announces Global Launch Date for Mate 80 Pro

Huawei has confirmed that its flagship Mate 80 Pro smartphone will make its global debut on 26 February during a product launch event in Madrid. This announcement comes alongside the reveal of the new Watch GT Runner smartwatch, signalling a busy day for Huawei fans eager to see the latest devices from the brand.

Key Specifications of the Mate 80 Pro

The Mate 80 Pro was originally unveiled in China last November, boasting a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is Huawei’s own Kirin 9030 chipset, which promises strong performance and efficiency. The phone is equipped with a sizeable 5,750mAh battery that supports fast charging at 100W wired and 80W wireless, ensuring quick top-ups for extended use.

Photography is a highlight of the Mate 80 Pro, featuring a versatile triple camera setup. The main sensor offers 50MP resolution with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, allowing for flexible shooting in different lighting conditions. Complementing this is a 48MP periscope telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and a 40MP ultrawide camera, catering to a wide range of photographic needs.

Additional Device Launches at the Event

Alongside the Mate 80 Pro, Huawei will introduce the FreeBuds 5 Pro wireless earbuds to the global market. These earbuds were also launched in China with the Mate 80 series and feature dual drivers, active noise cancellation, and support for lossless audio, powered by Huawei’s custom Kirin A3 chip.

Moreover, the company plans to unveil the MatePad Mini tablet and the Band 11 series smartbands during the same event. This broad lineup highlights Huawei’s strategy to expand its ecosystem of connected devices and accessories beyond smartphones.

Looking Ahead

The 26 February event promises to be a significant occasion for Huawei, marking the international arrival of several key products. Fans and tech enthusiasts should keep an eye out for detailed coverage of the launch and hands-on impressions as the company expands its reach beyond the Chinese market.
