The iPad Pro 2022 is coming with the feature we’ve all been waiting to see as well as many other hardware upgrades. The refresh to the iPad Pro range is expected to deliver the best tablet available in the market.
The iPad Pro 2022 will be coming in a choice of 2 different display sizes with the choice of an 11″ version or a 12.9″ version. Unlike the previous releases both models will be the same specification, and the only difference will be display size.
While there were early reports of OLED display coming to the iPad Pro models that isn’t going to be the case. Reliable analyst Ming Chi Kuo has advised that both models will feature a mini-LED display.
Its a 120Hz Display supporting HDR10 Pro & Dolby Vision. The 11″ version will come with a reoslution of 1668 x 2388 whereas the 12.9″ gets a resolution of 2048 x 2732.
There will be no Touch-ID and both models will rely on Face-ID bio-metrics thanks to the sensor inside the top bezel.
The selfie camera on both models of the iPad Pro 2022 will be housed inside the top bezel and its expected to be a 12MP ultrawide capable of 1080p at 60FPS.
They also share the same rear camera system which is reportedly a 12MP wide angle along with a 12MP ultrawide. The Wide angle will have OIS & Phase detect auto focus while the ultrawide relies on electronic stabilization. We also get an additional Lidar scanner on the rear.
While the design of the iPad Pro 2022 remains similar to its predecessor, we do get some big improvements in hardware.
It will be coming with a choice of 8GB or 16GB of Ram, and we have multiple storage variants configurable up to 2TB.
The Chipset Powering the iPad Pro 2022’s will be the new Apple M2, a powerful chipset on a 3nm node. While the chip has not surfaced yet, given the performance of the previous M1 we are expecting impressive results.
Its all going to be powered by a 40.88 Wh battery and reports suggest that it will now feature a rear panel made of glass. The glass rear panel allows for wireless as well as reverse wireless charging.
In terms of other features we get 5G, Bluetooth 5.2 and support for Wifi 6e, We of course also have support for the latest Apple Pencil.
No official launch date has been revealed for the iPad Pro 2022 but we get a good idea looking at the previous releases.
The iPad Pro 2021 launched in May, and the iPad Pro 2020 Launched in March. With the iPhones being the focus of September they won’t be going to close to that date meaning we can expect the iPad Pro 2022 around May.
When it comes to the iPad Pro the price hasn’t changed too much in recent years so we can expect it to be similar this time round. While no official pricing has been given, We expect the 11″ iPad Pro to start from $800 (£750) & the 12.9″ iPad Pro to start from $1,100 (£1,000)
All in all its looking like the new iPad Pro 2022 is going to be an incredible iPad, and probably the best tablet on the market on its release. The predecessor remains popular and all we really have is improvements in hardware so its destined to be a success.
