LG Unveils Advanced AI Cold Free Air Conditioners for 2026
LG Electronics has introduced its latest air conditioning models for 2026 in South Korea, unveiling the Whisen Objet Collection Tower I and View I Pro. These new units showcase LG’s proprietary AI Cold Free technology, designed to enhance indoor comfort by intelligently adjusting both temperature and humidity levels. This innovative system aims to resolve common issues found in traditional air conditioners, offering a more balanced and pleasant cooling experience.
Key Features and Specifications
The standout feature of the new Whisen air conditioners is the two-stage heat exchanger system. Unlike conventional models that reduce humidity by significantly lowering air temperature—often resulting in an uncomfortably cold environment—LG’s approach first removes moisture in the initial stage and then reheats the air in the second stage. This process maintains a consistent, user-defined temperature while delivering dry, cool air that avoids the sharp chill typically associated with dehumidification.
Complementing this is an upgraded AI Airflow system that utilises radar sensors to detect the user’s location and ambient conditions. When the room is hot, the system activates a strong airflow to cool the space efficiently. As temperatures drop, it automatically shifts to gentler or directional airflow, optimising comfort and energy use.
Further enhancing usability, the new models incorporate AI Voice Recognition powered by a GPT-based engine. This allows users to interact with the air conditioners through natural language commands, ask usage-related questions, and receive mode suggestions tailored to current room conditions. An AI Sleep mode also learns individual sleep patterns to adjust cooling behaviour, minimising disturbances during rest.
Additional features include a Filter Clean Bot that automatically removes dust from the fine filter on a weekly basis and AI Heat Exchanger Cleaning, which initiates cleaning cycles based on environmental data. Energy-saving modes such as Away Energy Saving and Pet Care are also integrated. The display panel has been enlarged from 4.3 inches to 6.8 inches, providing clear visibility of temperature, humidity, and dehumidification status.

Context and Related Innovations
This launch continues LG’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into home appliances to improve user experience and efficiency. The AI Cold Free technology addresses a long-standing limitation of air conditioners by balancing humidity control with temperature comfort. The inclusion of GPT-based voice recognition reflects a broader trend of embedding advanced AI into consumer electronics.
Alongside these air conditioners, LG recently revealed CLOiD, an AI-powered home robot designed to assist with everyday household tasks. The company also introduced the world’s lightest 17-inch laptop featuring an Aerominum build and AI capabilities, signalling LG’s expanding focus on AI-driven innovation across product categories.
Availability and Pricing
The Whisen Objet Collection Tower I and View I Pro air conditioners will be available in South Korea starting 22 January 2026. Pricing varies according to configuration, ranging from KRW 4.2 million to KRW 5.97 million (approximately $2,856 to $4,060).
LG’s new AI-powered air conditioners represent a significant step forward in climate control technology, combining comfort, efficiency, and smart features. Consumers and tech enthusiasts alike will be keen to see how these innovations perform in real-world settings as they become available.
