Nothing Phone 4a Series Pricing and Launch Details Leak
The upcoming Nothing Phone 4a series is set to launch on March 5, and fresh leaks have shed light on its pricing and specifications, particularly for the European market. According to a reliable French source, the standard Nothing Phone 4a could start at around €389 (approximately $460), while the Pro variant may begin at about €479 (around $567). This marks a significant price increase compared to the previous generation, where the Phone 3a and 3a Pro launched at €329 and €459 respectively.
Key Specifications and Features
The Nothing Phone 4a is expected to feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup, a departure from the Phone 3a’s 50MP+50MP+8MP system. The new model will reportedly support an ultra zoom capability of up to 70x, although such extreme zoom levels are often more promotional than practical. On the front, users can anticipate a 32MP selfie camera. The device will also retain the brand’s signature transparent design, complete with the Glyph Bar consisting of 63 mini LEDs. The display is said to be a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K and a variable refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz. Charging speeds are expected to reach up to 50W fast charging.
Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is tipped to come with a 50MP Sony main camera and an even more ambitious zoom capability of up to 140x. The Pro model will also feature a rear Glyph Matrix display and a slightly larger 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. Its build will use a unibody aluminium design, which likely means wireless charging will be absent due to the metal back panel.
Storage Options and Colour Variants
Interestingly, the standard Phone 4a is said to be available in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB variants, with no 128GB option in Europe, which is somewhat unusual. The Pro model will reportedly come in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB configurations. Colour choices for the standard model include Black, White, Blue, and Pink, with Blue and Pink limited to the higher 12GB/256GB variant. The Pro will be offered in Black, Silver, and Pink, with Pink again restricted to the 12GB/256GB option.
Context and What to Expect
The Nothing Phone 4a series appears to be continuing the brand’s focus on distinctive design and competitive mid-range specifications, but the price hikes could be a point of contention for fans expecting incremental upgrades. The increased storage base and enhanced display features suggest a push towards a more premium experience, especially with the Pro model’s higher refresh rate and unique Glyph Matrix rear display. However, the absence of wireless charging on the Pro model due to its aluminium back might disappoint some users.
As the launch date approaches, it will be interesting to see how Nothing balances these new features against the price increases, and whether the market responds positively to the updated offerings. Keep an eye out for the official announcement on March 5 for full details and availability.
