Realme Expands P4 Series with Affordable P4 Lite
Realme has introduced the P4 Lite, marking the fifth addition to its P4 lineup, which already includes the P4, P4 Pro, P4x, and P4 Power models. Positioned as a budget-friendly 4G smartphone, the P4 Lite offers a compelling mix of features at a very accessible price point, making it an attractive option for cost-conscious buyers.
Key Specifications and Features
The Realme P4 Lite sports a sizeable 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, enhancing the overall user experience with fluid visuals. Notably, the screen supports operation even when your hands are wet or oily, or if you are wearing gloves, which adds a practical touch for everyday use. A small notch houses the 5MP front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and options for either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 15 out of the box, although Realme has not yet disclosed details regarding future Android updates for this model.
Photography capabilities include a 13MP primary camera on the rear, accompanied by an auxiliary sensor, all arranged within a camera island that also contains an LED flash and a unique Pulse Light feature. This Pulse Light can glow in nine different colours across five modes, adding a distinctive aesthetic element.
Battery life is a strong suit for the P4 Lite, thanks to its large 6,300mAh battery that supports 15W charging. Additionally, the phone offers 6W reverse wired charging, allowing it to function as a power bank to charge other devices. The handset measures 7.94mm in thickness, weighs 201 grams, and includes practical features such as a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards for durability and includes a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Pricing, Availability, and Colours
The Realme P4 Lite will be available in India starting 24 February, retailing at INR 9,999 (approximately $110/€95) for the 4GB/64GB variant and INR 11,999 (around $130/€110) for the 4GB/128GB model. Buyers can choose from three colour options: Sea Blue, Obsidian Black, and Beach Gold. Sales will take place through Realme’s official website and Flipkart.
Context Within the P4 Series
This launch continues Realme’s strategy of offering a diverse P4 series that caters to different segments of the market, from entry-level to more premium devices. While the P4 Lite focuses on affordability and battery endurance, earlier models like the P4 Pro and P4 Power have targeted users seeking higher performance and 5G connectivity. The inclusion of features like the Pulse Light and reverse charging in a budget device highlights Realme’s commitment to packing value into its lower-tier offerings.
Overall, the Realme P4 Lite stands out for combining a large battery, a smooth display, and practical usability features at a very competitive price point, making it a noteworthy contender in the budget smartphone arena.
As the P4 Lite becomes available, it will be interesting to see how it performs in the market and whether Realme will continue to expand this series with similarly balanced devices.
