Samsung Galaxy S22 Is Bringing The Snapdragon To More Markets

The Snapdragon chipset generally always outperforms the Exynos equivalent but thankfully with the Galaxy S22 we’ll be seeing more Snapdragon 898 versions than usual

Galaxy S22 System On Chip

Each year samsung launches 2 different chipset versions for each of its phones, We get the Snapdragon & the Exynos versions and these are split up between different countries. With the Snapdragon generally performing better in benchmarks & battery life test Exynos users are some times left disappointed but this year things are changing.

While there have been rumors circulating about no Exynos variant of the Galaxy S22 that was never likely to be the case. We have had so much news about the partnership with Samsung & AMD that there is just no way they will be dropping the Exynos version.

We now have some confirmation and while the Exynos is still going to be in some versions of the Galaxy S22, It turns out there will be more Snapdragon 898 regions than usual. This Has been confirmed by Reliable Leaker Max Weinbach & Hamza on twitter (tweets below)

You can see from the tweets that USA still continues to use the snapdragon 898. The Global release which includes Korea and Europe is being powered by the Exynos 2200, But for the first time we have Asia & Africa with the snapdragon 898. They’ll also be getting separate variants of the S22 coming under model numbers SM-S901E, SM-S906E & SM-S908E meaning there could be other differences between their release as well.

Exynos 2200

The exynos 2200 will be the first Exynos released via the partnership of Samsung & AMD which is reportedly performing much better than previous releases and we also have support for ray tracing.

With Samsung working on the CPU and AMD on the GPU we are expecting great things from the Chip and should see some big improvements now they have moved away from a Mali GPU. You can read our article on the Exynos 2200 here. We’re unsure at the moment which is likely to perform the best but with launch fast approaching it won’t be long until we find out.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also looking incredible with all the latest specs but i’d like to know your thoughts in the comments, who out there is getting the Galaxy S22? and would you prefer the Snapdragon 898 or the Exynos 200?

  1. Yeah, Snapdragon has to be the chip.
I am so concerned about the screen
Shouldn’t be bigger than 5.8 inch.
If bigger than 5.8 in is unprofessional.
Please think about. This is true.
Being 5.8 in is easy to handle too.
But, no smaller than 5.8 in either.
Don’t forget I am a fan of SAMSUNG.
