New Battery and Charging Details Surface for Samsung’s Upcoming Phones

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26+ has recently passed through TUV certification, unveiling some key details about its battery and charging capabilities. The certification shows that the device houses a battery with a rated capacity of 4,755 mAh. Samsung is expected to market this as a 4,900 mAh battery, maintaining the same capacity as its predecessor, the Galaxy S25+. Alongside this, the Galaxy S26+ will support 45W wired charging, promising faster power top-ups for users.

Mid-Range Models Also Confirmed to Support 45W Charging

Along with the flagship S26+, Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A series phones have also surfaced in the certification listings. The Galaxy A57 5G has been confirmed to support 45W wired charging, although its battery capacity remains undisclosed for now. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A37 5G’s certification reveals a battery with a rated capacity of 4,905 mAh, which will likely be marketed as either 5,000 mAh or 5,100 mAh. This model also supports 45W wired charging, indicating Samsung’s intent to offer rapid charging even in its more affordable offerings.

Launch Timelines and Expectations

Rumours suggest that the Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G could be launched in the first half of February, catering to the mid-range smartphone market. On the other hand, the Galaxy S26 series is anticipated to be officially unveiled at an event in California scheduled for February 25. This aligns with Samsung’s usual strategy of launching its flagship S series early in the year, often showcasing incremental upgrades in battery and charging technology.

What to Watch For

With the Galaxy S26+ maintaining the same battery capacity as the S25+ but continuing to support 45W charging, Samsung seems focused on refining charging speeds rather than increasing battery size. The inclusion of 45W charging in the mid-range A37 5G and A57 5G models is a promising sign for consumers looking for faster charging without premium pricing. As the launch dates approach, further details on other specifications and features are expected to emerge, providing a clearer picture of Samsung’s plans for its 2024 smartphone lineup.
