Samsung Galaxy S26 Launch Date Confirmed for Early March
Samsung’s eagerly awaited Galaxy S26 series is expected to officially go on sale in Europe on 11 March, according to a recent report from Dealabs. This launch date follows the company’s anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumoured to take place on 25 February. Samsung appears poised to use the early part of March to heavily promote the new flagship lineup before it becomes available to consumers.
Key Specifications and Features of the Galaxy S26 Series
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly feature a 5,000mAh battery, slightly smaller than earlier leaks that suggested a 5,200mAh capacity. Despite this minor downgrade, the Ultra model supports wired charging at 60W, capable of charging the battery to 75% in just 30 minutes. Wireless charging will also see an upgrade, with the series supporting 25W charging speeds comparable to those found on iPhones. The Galaxy S26+ is expected to come with a 4,900mAh battery and support 45W wired charging.
Design-wise, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to have rounded edges, a dedicated camera island, and an all-black colour option including the frame. It will also retain a USB-C port, an S Pen, and a SIM card tray. The Ultra model is expected to be thinner than its predecessor, and the selfie camera hole will be approximately 4mm larger, offering a wider field of view. Meanwhile, the base Galaxy S26 is rumoured to feature a slightly bigger screen than previous models.

One of the standout innovations in the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s new Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which introduces a ‘Privacy Display.’ This feature uses AI to dim the screen when viewed from side angles without compromising brightness for the user directly in front of the device, effectively preventing shoulder surfing and protecting user privacy.
Performance and Camera Upgrades
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered exclusively by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chip, while the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will use Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip in selected regions. Camera hardware on the Ultra model remains largely unchanged from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, featuring a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, a 12MP 3x telephoto lens, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP 5x periscope lens, and a 12MP selfie camera.
Despite minimal changes in camera hardware, Samsung aims to deliver a significantly enhanced photography experience. New features include an Advanced Video Professional (AVP) codec that enables RAW video capture with higher bitrates for improved post-production flexibility. Additionally, support for TILTA wireless lens controllers—commonly used in professional cinematography—will allow users to adjust focus wirelessly. Improvements in lens and coating technology are expected to prevent the yellowish skin tones seen in previous images, while the Camera Assistant app will help soften harsh details for more natural-looking photos.
Pricing and Market Strategy
Samsung is reportedly considering price increases of $30 to $60 for the Galaxy S26 series in some markets, including South Korea. However, no price hikes are expected in key regions such as the United States, where the Galaxy S26 is anticipated to start at $799.99, the S26+ at $999.99, and the S26 Ultra at $1,299.99. This pricing strategy suggests Samsung is aiming to maintain competitiveness in strategically important markets while adjusting costs elsewhere.

What to Expect Next
As the Galaxy Unpacked event approaches on 25 February, more official details about the Galaxy S26 series are likely to emerge. Fans and potential buyers should keep an eye on Samsung’s announcements, especially regarding availability, pricing in different regions, and any additional features that may be revealed. The combination of hardware refinements, new display technology, and camera software enhancements positions the Galaxy S26 series as a compelling option for flagship smartphone buyers in 2024.
