Galaxy S26 Ultra Sets New Performance Benchmark

Just ahead of the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has made a strong impression by outperforming Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max in the latest Geekbench 6 tests. The device, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, achieved the highest scores recorded for this chipset so far, suggesting Samsung has implemented significant optimisations to maximise performance.

These benchmark results highlight Samsung’s efforts to push the limits of mobile processing power, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra surpassing the iPhone 17 Pro Max in both single-core and multi-core categories. This is a notable feat, as Apple’s A-series chips have traditionally set industry standards for performance.

Key Features and Specifications

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to come in a variety of eye-catching colours, including Cobalt Violet, Black Shadow, White Shadow, and Galactic Blue. Design-wise, the phone will feature rounded edges and a dedicated camera island housing a sophisticated triple-camera setup. A USB-C port and S Pen support will also be included, along with a substantial battery capacity estimated between 5,000mAh and 5,200mAh.

One of the standout innovations in the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s introduction of Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which enables a so-called ‘Privacy Display.’ This feature uses artificial intelligence to dim the screen when viewed from side angles, preventing onlookers from seeing the content without compromising brightness for the user viewing the display head-on.

Advanced Camera System and Imaging Improvements

The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera array is expected to be impressive, featuring a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, possibly with a bright f/1.5 aperture, complemented by a 50MP ultrawide camera (ISOCELL JN3 or Sony IMX564), a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens (IMX854) with a potentially wider and faster f/2.9 aperture, and a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor (ISOCELL 3LD S5K3LD). The front-facing camera will reportedly be a 12MP Sony IMX874 sensor.

Samsung is also enhancing image quality through a new noise reduction algorithm, aiming to deliver sharper and clearer photos, particularly when shooting in high-resolution modes such as 24MP. As noted by leakster Ice Universe, this update promises smoother and more uniform colour reproduction, marking the Galaxy S26 Ultra as the best Galaxy flagship camera to date.

Context and What to Expect Next

While earlier rumours suggested the Galaxy S26 Ultra might include Qi2 built-in magnets for MagSafe-like accessory support, this feature is now not expected to be part of the final design. Nevertheless, the combination of cutting-edge processing power, advanced display technology, and a versatile camera system positions the Galaxy S26 Ultra as a formidable competitor in the premium smartphone market.

With the Galaxy S26 series launch imminent, fans and tech enthusiasts should keep an eye out for the official unveiling to confirm these specifications and experience the new features firsthand.
