Oppo K14x Debuts with Robust Battery and MediaTek Chipset
Oppo has officially introduced the K14x smartphone in India, continuing its K-series lineup with a focus on delivering solid performance and impressive battery life. This new model retains the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset found in its predecessor, the K13x, while offering a large 6,500mAh battery and a sizeable 6.75-inch display, aiming to provide a balanced experience for budget-conscious consumers.
Specifications and Features
The Oppo K14x features a 6.75-inch LCD panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals during everyday use. The display comes with an HD+ resolution and can reach a peak brightness of up to 1,125 nits, making it suitable for outdoor viewing. Under the hood, the Dimensity 6300 SoC is paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot, providing flexibility for users who need additional space.
Photography capabilities include a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, capable of recording 1080p videos at 60fps. For selfies, the device sports a 5MP front-facing camera. The K14x also supports 45W wired fast charging as well as reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge other devices using the phone’s battery.

Additional Features and Availability
Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick and secure unlocking, an IP64 rating for splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.4 with LE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, 5G connectivity, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device runs on ColorOS 15 out of the box, offering an updated user interface and software experience.
Oppo has made the K14x available in two colour options: Icy Blue and Prism Violet. Pricing starts at INR 14,999 (approximately $165) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at INR 16,999 (around $185).

Context and What to Expect
The Oppo K14x builds upon the foundation laid by last year’s K13x, maintaining the same chipset but enhancing battery capacity and display size. This approach aligns with Oppo’s strategy to offer affordable smartphones with reliable performance and long-lasting battery life, particularly targeting the Indian market. As competition in this segment intensifies, the K14x’s combination of features and pricing may appeal to users seeking value without compromising on essential specifications.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how the K14x performs in the market and whether Oppo will introduce further refinements in future K-series models. For now, the K14x stands as a noteworthy option for those prioritising battery endurance and smooth display performance in a budget-friendly package.
