Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Design and Display Features
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has been unveiled in remarkable detail, thanks to a video of two dummy units shared by the well-known leaker @OnLeaks on X. The design showcases the return of rounded edges and a dedicated camera island, with an all-black colour option that extends to the frame, emphasising a sleek and cohesive look. The device retains familiar elements such as a USB-C port, an S Pen slot, and a SIM card tray, maintaining the premium features expected from Samsung’s flagship Ultra model.
In terms of display, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be somewhat thinner than its predecessor, while the base Galaxy S26 will feature a slightly larger screen. A notable change is the selfie camera hole, which is anticipated to be around 4mm larger than the previous generation, allowing for a wider field of view and potentially enhanced front-facing camera capabilities.

Performance, Battery, and Charging Improvements
Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered exclusively by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chip, ensuring top-tier performance for demanding tasks and gaming. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26+ and the base S26 models will utilise Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip in certain regions, continuing Samsung’s dual-chipset strategy.

Battery capacity has been clarified through a recent 3C certification in China, revealing a 5,000mAh battery for the S26 Ultra. This is a slight downgrade from earlier rumours suggesting a 5,200mAh cell. Charging capabilities see a significant upgrade, with the S26 series finally matching iPhone-level wireless charging speeds at 25W and supporting wired charging at 60W. However, it is important to note that the charger will be sold separately.
Camera Hardware and Software Enhancements
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera setup remains largely consistent with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, featuring a sophisticated array of sensors. This includes a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide sensor (either ISOCELL JN3 or Sony IMX564), a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera (IMX854), and a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor (ISOCELL S5K3LD). The selfie camera is expected to be a 12MP IMX874 unit.
Despite minimal hardware changes, Samsung is set to introduce substantial improvements to the camera experience. These include the Advanced Video Professional (AVP) codec, which enables capturing RAW videos with higher bitrates and more detail, enhancing post-production flexibility. Additionally, support for TILTA wireless lens controllers will allow users to adjust focus similarly to professional cameras. Enhanced lens and coating technology aims to correct the yellow tint previously seen in skin tones, while the new Camera Assistant app will help soften harsh details for more natural-looking photos.

Looking Ahead to the Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch
With these detailed leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra appears poised to offer a refined flagship experience, combining familiar design elements with meaningful upgrades in performance, charging, and camera software. As the launch approaches, it will be interesting to see how these enhancements translate into real-world use and whether Samsung can maintain its position at the top of the Android smartphone market.
