Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Brings Significant Charging Upgrade
Samsung is set to enhance the charging capabilities of its flagship Galaxy S series with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to official test results revealed by renowned leaker Ice Universe, the device’s new 60W wired charging can replenish the battery from zero to 75 percent in just 30 minutes under Samsung’s controlled conditions. This marks a notable improvement over previous Galaxy S models, which have seen relatively stagnant charging speeds in recent years.
Key Specifications and Features
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to house a 5,000mAh battery, as confirmed by a recent 3C certification in China. This is a slight reduction from earlier rumours suggesting a 5,200mAh capacity. Despite the smaller battery, the introduction of 60W charging support promises faster top-up times. However, it is worth noting that the 60W charger will be sold separately, meaning users may need to purchase the brick independently to take full advantage of the faster charging speeds.
In addition to wired charging, the S26 series will also support 25W wireless charging, which is comparable to the charging speeds offered by current iPhones. This combination offers users flexibility in how they recharge their devices.

Design and Other Notable Upgrades
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to feature rounded edges and a dedicated camera island, with an all-black colour option that extends to the frame. It will also retain a USB-C port, include an S Pen, and have a SIM card tray. The device is expected to be somewhat thinner than its predecessor, and the selfie camera hole will be approximately 4mm larger, providing a wider field of view for front-facing photos and video calls.
One of the standout features for the Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s introduction of Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which enables a ‘Privacy Display.’ This innovative technology uses artificial intelligence to dim the screen at angled viewing positions without reducing brightness when viewed directly. This helps prevent shoulder surfing and keeps on-screen content private from prying eyes.
Processor and Pricing Context
Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered exclusively by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip in select markets. This split chipset strategy continues Samsung’s approach from previous years.
Regarding pricing, Samsung is reportedly considering a modest price increase of $30 to $60 for the Galaxy S26 series in certain regions, including South Korea. However, no price hikes are expected in key markets such as the United States, where the base Galaxy S26 is anticipated to launch at $799.99, the S26+ at $999.99, and the S26 Ultra at $1,299.99.

Looking Ahead
With the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s faster 60W charging, improved display privacy features, and refined design, Samsung appears ready to make a strong statement with its next flagship. As the launch approaches, it will be interesting to see how these enhancements perform in real-world scenarios and whether the pricing adjustments affect consumer reception. Keep an eye out for further official announcements and hands-on impressions in the coming weeks.
