The vivo V70 Elite has been spotted on the Geekbench database, revealing key details about the upcoming device. Listed under the model number V2548, the prototype runs on Android 16 and is equipped with 12GB of RAM. Most notably, this leak confirms that the V70 Elite will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, marking the first time a vivo V-series phone features a Snapdragon 8-series processor.
Specifications and Features
The V70 Elite is expected to launch later this month alongside the standard vivo V70, with a V70 FE model to follow in the future. The handset will be offered in three colour options: Passion Red, Sand Beige, and Authentic Black. It will feature a 6.59-inch OLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, “1.5K” resolution, and an impressive peak brightness of 5,000 nits, making it well-suited for vibrant and clear visuals.
Photography capabilities include a 50MP main camera utilising Sony’s IMX766 sensor, paired with a 50MP telephoto lens featuring the Sony IMX882 sensor. On the front, users can expect a 50MP selfie camera. The device will come in configurations including an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Powering the phone is a substantial 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging support, ensuring extended usage and quick recharging times.
Additional features include IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, a metal frame for durability, and an x-axis linear vibration motor for enhanced haptic feedback.
Context and What to Expect
The vivo V70 Elite’s adoption of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is a significant step for the V-series, which has not previously used Snapdragon’s top-tier 8-series processors. This move could position the V70 Elite as a more premium offering within vivo’s lineup. The combination of high-end display specifications, advanced camera sensors, and robust battery life suggests vivo is aiming to deliver a well-rounded flagship experience.
As the launch approaches, more details about the standard V70 and the future V70 FE models are likely to emerge. Fans of the brand should keep an eye out for official announcements to see how these devices compare and what additional features they may bring.
Overall, the vivo V70 Elite looks set to be a compelling addition to the market, blending powerful hardware with premium design and features.
